pNav Versions Comparison
Cold Start
Ideal Conditions 1)
|
pNav could start takes app. 60 seconds. and is app. 10% faster than pNav2. |
pNav2 is app. 10% slower than pNav. Cold start s takes app. 70 seconds. |
Real Conditions2)
|
pNav cold start is problematic and can take up to hours. Acquisition is not guaranteed. |
pNav2 cold start is reliable and takes at most a couple of minutes; see the Navigation of Rotating Satellite in the datasheet. |
Reaqusition
Position fix exists
Fast using Almanach data for both pNav and pNav2.
No position fix
Same problem as Real Conditions Acquisition.
|
pNav is very slow. Reacquisition is not guaranteed. |
pNav2 reacquisition is reliable and takes at most a couple of minutes; see the “Navigation of Rotating Satellite” in the datasheet. |
Tracking Sensitivity
|
pNav can track only open sky satellites. |
The tracking loops of pNav2 were optimized to track weak signals; see the “Navigation of Rotating Satellite” in the datasheet. |
Antenna
|
3.3V feeding. No feeding current limit. |
2.85V feeding. Feeding current limit. We recommend a Wide Beam active antenna with an LNA gain of up to 10 dB for optimal noise and intermodulation performance. |
